CATHODIC - PROTECTION
CPCC anode, Tubular anode, Rod anode, Probe anode, Wire anode, Strip / plate anode, Mesh anode, Ribbon anode, Disc anodes.

Because an oxidizing film naturally passivates the titanium substrate, the Ti anode remains dimensionally stable over time. Direct current transfer is accomplished through the mixed metal oxide catalyst, which is highly conductive and fully oxidized so that higher current outputs are possible (approximately 10 amps/ft2 in fresh water and over 50 amps/ft2 in salt water). This two part composition allows for a maximum current density and it can be used in sands with various levels of moisture and salt contents, acid environments with extremely low pH levels (under 1.0) and high chloride concentrations; It can be designed to provide effective protection for 20 years and more. i.e. the mixed metal oxide coating on the anodes has an almost negligible consumption rate of less than 1.0mg/amp-yr.

Cathodic protection is an economical method for controlling corrosion on above ground storage tank bottoms, buried and submerged structures, deep and conventional ground beds and in fresh, brackish and salt water electrolytes, offshore platforms, condensers, water tanks and pressure vessels. We do design, fabrication & supply of:

  1. Mixed Metal Oxide Coated Titanium Ribbon, Probe, Mesh, Wire, Strip, Disc, Tubular & Rod Anodes.
  2. Platinised Niobium & Titanium Tubular, Wire, Mesh, Probe & Strip Anodes.

Application & Availability:

CPCC MMO titanium anodes perform well in all types of environment including areas with extremely low pH level (under 1), and high chloride concentrations. These unique configurations makes the CPCC MMO anodes ideal for use in a wide variety such as cathodic-protection system for buried structures, pipeline, steel in concrete, ship, jetties & wharf. Following standard / custom-made anodes are manufactured by
TAF.

CPCC MMO Titanium Rod Anode
CPCC MMO Titanium Wire Anode
CPCC MMO Titanium Strip & Plate Anode
CPCC MMO Titanium Mesh Anode
CPCC MMO Titanium Ribbon Anode

What is CPCC MMO?

MMO or Platinised coating is an excellent Electrical conductor and giving well chemical stability, when it will be coated on Titanium or Niobium base, even in very low pH environments.

Major Failure of Cathodic Protection systems are due to the break down of the electrical connection between the cable joints and anodes. These failures will take place, when the anodes connections are jointed by resin based seals.

To prevent such a failures, we developed the hybrid method of "CPCC" cable joints by hot fusion crimping of anode with the copper conductor, covered by polymer cable sheath.

After the crimping, the joints are 100% Quality Assured on...

Conductivity test on Electrical Connection.
Helium (vacuum) leak test on joints.
In-house test for dimension, adhesion & coating thick of Anode.
Mechanical and chemical analysis of Electrical cable.
Mechanical & Chemical analysis of Titanium substrate.

MMO Coating & its Current out put:

MMO coating greatly prolong the life of the anode (low wear rate) and provide excellent chemical corrosion resistance such as acid condition. The standard outputs are as below. However, coating loading may be adjusted to suit a particular current density or design life.

Electrolyte Maximum Current Density Maximum Current Density Anode Life
Carbonaceous Backfill 50 A/m2 20 years
Calcined Petroleum Coke 100 A/m2 20 years
Fresh Water 100 A/m2 20 years
Brackish Water 300 A/m2 20 years
Sea Water 600 A/m2 20 years
